BUG Clicker for Mac: Download and Fix "Cannot Be Verified"
BUG Clicker runs on Mac. Get the official dmg, open it past the macOS security warning, find it in the menu bar and compare it with the Windows app.

BUG Clicker has a Mac version. It is a test build for macOS 12 Monterey or later and runs natively on both Apple silicon (M-series) and Intel Macs. Like the Windows app, it comes from the developer BUG (@BUGnDEV), and this page is an unofficial guide.
Download the Mac version
Download BUG-Clicker-mac.dmg (always the newest version). It comes from the official page, Bug-Clicker-forMAC-download on GitHub, where the dmg is listed under Assets.
Heads-up: the download link written inside the official Mac README points to
Bug-Clicker-mac-download, which currently returns a 404 error. The working repository is Bug-Clicker-forMAC-download, linked above.
Install it
- Open the downloaded dmg.
- Drag BUG Clicker into the Applications folder.
- Launch it from Applications or Spotlight.
Fix "BUG Clicker cannot be verified"
The Mac build is not signed with an Apple developer certificate yet, so macOS blocks the first launch. What you click depends on your macOS version.
macOS 15 Sequoia or later
- Close the warning dialog.
- Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security.
- Scroll down to the security section. Next to the "BUG Clicker was blocked" line, click Open Anyway.
- Confirm with your password or Touch ID.
macOS 14 Sonoma or earlier
Control-click (or right-click) BUG Clicker in Applications, choose Open, then Open again in the dialog.
You only do this once. After that, BUG Clicker opens normally.
Where is it? Look in the menu bar
BUG Clicker does not show up in the Dock. Its icon appears in the menu bar at the top of the screen, and that icon opens the menu, Character Studio and settings. If your menu bar is crowded (common on MacBooks with a notch), the icon can be hidden behind the notch: quit a few other menu bar apps to make room.
Turn on the screenshot feature
BUG Clicker can take shots of your character on the desktop. macOS asks for permission first: open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Screen & System Audio Recording, and switch BUG Clicker on.

Where your characters are saved on Mac
Characters and settings live in ~/Library/Application Support/BUG Clicker. To get there, open Finder, press Shift + Command + G and paste that path. Back up this folder before you reinstall or move to a new Mac.
Updates
New versions download automatically. You can check under Settings, then About, then Update.
