Privacy Policy

bugclicker.org is an unofficial fan site about BUG Clicker. It is not run by BUG, the developer of the app. This page covers this site only; the BUG Clicker app itself keeps its data on your own computer, and nothing it stores there is sent to us.

The short version

• You don't need an account, a name or a password.
• Your picture is used to draw your pet, kept by the AI service for at most 24 hours, and never used to train AI.
• We keep the email you paid with, your orders, your credits and your pets' names.
• We don't sell your data and don't show ads.

You don't need an account

When you make a pet, the site gives your browser an anonymous session so it can remember your pets and credits. We don't ask for your name or a password. Reading the guides needs no session at all.

Your picture

The picture you upload is sent to the AI image service that draws your pet, and it is stored there for at most 24 hours. We don't use your picture to train AI, and we don't keep a copy of it on our own servers. The faces, the .cvclk file and the PSD are put together in your browser from the drawing.

Only upload pictures you have the right to use.

What we keep

• The email address you paid with. Stripe gives it to us after checkout. We use it to send your receipt and a link that brings your pets back on any computer. The link stops working after a year. We don't send newsletters.
• Orders and credits. What you bought, when, and how many credits are left, so we can show your balance and handle refunds.
• Your pets. The name you gave each pet and whether it was made, so you can download it again.

How long we keep it

Payments

Payments go through Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe handles your payment details under its own privacy policy.

Cookies

The site sets a cookie for your session and one for your language. If we turn on visitor statistics, a cookie banner asks first, and you can change your choice from the link in the footer. Reading the guides with cookies blocked works fine; making a pet needs the session cookie.

Who else sees your data

The AI image service (your picture, for drawing), Stripe (payments) and our hosting and email providers, only as far as they need to do their part. We don't sell your data and don't share it with advertisers.

Keeping it safe

The whole site runs over HTTPS. Payment details never reach our servers, and the link to your pets is signed so it can't be guessed. Anyone who has that link can open your pets, so keep the email to yourself.

Your choices

You can ask what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@bugclicker.org from the address you paid with and we'll reply within 2 business days. We keep order records that the law requires for accounting.

Children

The pet maker isn't meant for children under 13. If you're younger, ask a parent to make the pet with you.

Changes

If this page changes, the "last updated" date at the top changes with it.
