BUG Clicker Ears, Tails and Wings: How to Add Parts

Where the Parts tab is, how to add ears, tails, wings, ahoge and head-top dolls in BUG Clicker, how pins and layer order work, and why parts go missing.

Make your character

Ears, tails, wings, an ahoge (a single upright hair strand) and head-top dolls are parts: separate images that sway, bounce and react on their own instead of being drawn into the head. They are still marked BETA (checked against BUG Clicker 1.18.5 for Windows).

I cannot find where to add ears

Parts live in Character Studio → Parts, under + Add part. Ears, tails and wings arrived in version 1.18.0 (October 24, 2026). Before that, only head-top dolls existed, so if you only see a doll option, update in Settings → About → Updates.

Each character can have up to 12 ears, tails and wings, and up to three head-top dolls.

Draw a part

  1. In the Parts tab, choose the part type and press Get guide PNG. It saves a guide to your Downloads folder (1600 × 1600 for ears, tails and wings; 400 × 400 for head-top dolls).
  2. Draw inside the dotted box. The green pin marks where the part attaches.
  3. Ears and wings: draw only the right side. The left side is mirrored from it. Recent versions also accept ears and wings drawn differently on each side.
  4. Add the image with Replace and choose its size.

Put it in the right place

  • Change pin: click once on the stage where the part attaches. For ears and wings, drag the orange dot to the tip so the part bends the right way.
  • Move one side only: turn off moving both sides together.
  • Ear presets: in the Motion tab, pick Upright ears or Floppy ears. Floppy ears keep their base on the head and only the tip sways.
  • Tails: Details → Direction turns all the way down, and Follow the head attaches a tail to the head like hair.

Set how it moves

In the part's Motion and Details, set how wide, strong, fast and smooth it sways. In Reactions, choose whether it reacts to clicks, dragging, music and typing. Ears can Droop or Twitch when petted. Click the character on the stage to test.

Order: in front of or behind the hair

The Layer order list in the Parts tab sets what is drawn in front. Higher rows are in front. Use it to put a tail between back hair and body, or ears behind the head. See back hair not moving for the full list.

Turn parts on and off on the desktop

Right-click the character and use Show parts to switch each part on or off, or all of them at once. With no parts yet, the same button reads Add parts… and opens the Parts tab.

Parts missing after sharing

  • The person who imported it uses an old version. Versions before 1.18.0 skip ears, tails and wings and bring in only the character. Ask them to update.
  • Layers came out in the wrong order. Before 1.18.5, a .cvclk saved only each image's zone, so the order of back hair, ears, tails and wings could get mixed up. Export it again from 1.18.5 or later.
  • The head-top doll is missing. When exporting in Settings → Share → Export, check that the head-top doll is ticked under Include.

You can also share parts on their own as a .cvpart file.
