BUG Clicker Back Hair Not Moving With the Head (Fix)

Back hair stays still while the head moves? Set it to "With the head" in the layer order, move it on the stage without redrawing, and close the neck gap.

Make your character

You added back hair, but when the character breathes, nods or is clicked, the head moves and the hair stays behind. This is the default, not a broken PSD: back hair starts as behind the body, stays in place. You can change it in a couple of clicks (checked against BUG Clicker 1.18.5 for Windows).

Make back hair follow the head

  1. Open Character Studio and go to the Parts tab.
  2. Find Layer order. It lists back hair, side hair, extra images, ears, tails, wings, body and head in drawing order.
  3. Click the back hair row and choose With the head instead of Stay in place.

Now the hair moves with the head's breathing, nodding and press. Side hair already moves with the head by default.

This choice arrived in version 1.18.3 (October 27, 2026). On older versions it was under Character Studio → Images → "Layers · movement", so update first if you cannot find it.

Want the hair to swing a little late?

In the Parts tab, open Details and turn on Follow late from behind the body. Ears and layers behind the body then follow the head slightly behind, which reads as a soft swing.

Back hair is in the wrong place

You do not have to go back to your drawing app:

  • In Layer order, select the back hair row, then drag the character on the stage to move only that image.
  • Or type left/right and up/down values for an exact position.

Back hair shows in front of a tail or wing

Order matters in the same list. Rows higher in the list are drawn in front. Rows below the body are behind the body, rows between body and head are behind the head, and rows above the head are in front of it. Drag the tail or wing row to where it should be, for example between back hair and body.

If you share the character, export it again from version 1.18.5 or later. Older exports saved only each image's zone, so the order could get mixed up for the person who imported it.

There is a gap between the head and the body

When the head squishes on click, a short neck can show a gap. Draw the top of the body further up so it tucks under the chin (at least about 30 px on an 800 px canvas). The free PSD checker measures this overlap and warns you before you load the file.
