Make your BUG Clicker desktop pet open when you turn on your computer, using the Windows Startup folder or macOS Login Items. Takes about a minute.

Download and setup

As of version 1.18.5 for Windows, we could not find a "start with Windows" option in BUG Clicker's own settings or patch notes. You can still make it open by itself using your system's start-up list. It only takes a shortcut, and nothing inside the app changes.

Windows 10 and 11

  1. Find BUG-Clicker.exe in the folder where you keep it.
  2. Right-click it and choose Create shortcut (on Windows 11, Show more options → Create shortcut).
  3. Press Windows key + R, type shell:startup and press Enter. The Startup folder opens.
  4. Move the shortcut into that folder.

Next time you sign in, BUG Clicker starts and your characters appear.

Keep the exe where it is. The shortcut points to the exe, and your characters live in the "BUG Clicker 데이터" folder next to it. If you move the exe later, move that folder with it and make a new shortcut.

Turn it off again

Delete the shortcut from the Startup folder, or open Task Manager → Startup apps and set BUG Clicker to Disabled.

Mac

  1. Open System Settings → General → Login Items.
  2. Under Open at Login, press +.
  3. Choose BUG Clicker in the Applications folder.

To stop it, select it in the same list and press −.

It starts but nothing shows

On the very first launch the app can take about 30 seconds to unpack files. Check the tray (Windows, the ^ next to the clock) or the menu bar (Mac). If a character is off screen, use Gather all in one spot from the tray. See character disappeared.
